Wave hello to a new collection
On a windy beach
Six months ago, in October 2022, I joined my friend Caroline on a journey from London to Glasgow and then from Glasgow to Stornoway and finally to the Isle of Harris.
We were meeting a group of photographers who had joined together for a week to photograph the waves on Harris, under the guidance of the talented photographer Margaret Soraya for her Quiet Landscapes workshop. The weather was stormy and dramatic and the sand filled every crevice. Every night I poured out a little pile from my camera bag, despite trying my best to keep it free of grit!
It was a wonderful week, full of laughter and frustration at the changing conditions. That illusive image was always a wave away, and the light seemed to change with every second.
